Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito has lauded Heart of Lions for their remarkable consistency in the Ghana Premier League, describing them as one of the toughest sides to face as the two prepare to lock horns on Sunday.
Speaking to AKSC Media, Zito admitted that the Lions have always proven to be a difficult opponent for Kotoko.
“I think it will be a very tough match. They have played four good games against Kotoko, and the points have often been split—or sometimes they even take the bigger share. In terms of consistency, they are one of the best in the league,” he said.
The Porcupine Warriors began their 2025/26 campaign with a hard-fought 1-0 away win over Berekum Chelsea on September 13. While the result gave Kotoko a perfect start, Zito is well aware that his side will need to be at their best to overcome a Lions team he holds in high regard.
Sunday’s fixture will also mark Kotoko’s first home outing of the season at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. The match is set for a 3 pm kickoff, with fans expected to troop in to create a charged atmosphere as both teams look to make a strong early-season statement.
