Experienced Ghanaian football administrator, George Afriyie has suggested some names of locally based coaches who are capable of coaching Ghana at the senior level.
The former Ghana FA veep has mentioned some names of coaches in the Ghana Premier League who are fit for the Black Stars assistant coach job.
According to him, coaches like Prosper Narteh Ogum of Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Great Olympics FC head coach Annor Walker are good candidates for the job.
Again, the astute administrator revealed names of other coaches such as Mohammed Mohammed of Real Tamale United FC and Nurudeen Amadu of King Faisal FC as men good enough to be considered when naming an assistant coach for the Stars.
“Locally we have the men but because they don’t have the national experience…if not we can get a lot of coaches in our local league but they should be considered as assistant coaches.
“Annor Walker, Tanko of RTU, Nuru of King Faisal. They should be considered as assistant coaches, they are doing very very well and even Kotoko coach, Prosper Nartey Ogum. He is a good coach. He’s doing well. If they cannot be considered they can be considered as assistant coaches because they have to start from somewhere and be groomed.”
