Asante Kotoko duo Kwame Opoku and Frederick Asare have been named in the Ghana Premier League (GPL) Team of the Week for Matchweek 24 following their standout performances against FC Samartex.
Opoku played a crucial role in Kotoko’s 1-1 draw with the defending champions on Saturday, scoring in the second half to rescue a point for the Porcupine Warriors. Goalkeeper and captain Frederick Asare also impressed, making key saves throughout the match to keep his side in contention.
The pair are joined in the Team of the Week by Nations FC defender Razak Simpson, FC Samartex midfielder Hilary Adabo, and Aduana Stars forward Kelvin Obeng.
Meanwhile, Dreams FC head coach Abdul Karim Zito has been named Coach of the Week after leading his side to a crucial 1-0 victory over Hearts of Oak.
