Asante Kotoko has recently received letters from Haven Travel and Tour, the company that collaborated with Nana Yaw Amponsah’s administration to organize the Asante Kotoko Dubai training tour in 2021, threatening legal action against the club.
According to reports from the Kessben Sports desk, Haven Travel and Tour has demanded payment of a $46,000 debt covering expenses incurred during the Sudan and Dubai trips. Failure to settle the debt may result in legal proceedings against the Kumasi-based football club.
Asante Kotoko has confirmed receipt of the letters from the Travel and Tour Company, signaling the seriousness of the situation.
In response to the demand, the current Interim Management Committee (IMC) of Asante Kotoko has initiated communication with the Travel and Tour Company, requesting detailed documentation of the expenses incurred during the trips.
The training tour in Dubai spanned two weeks, during which Asante Kotoko intensified preparations for the upcoming season. Subsequently, the team went on to achieve success by winning the 2021-22 Ghana Premier League title.
