Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Mohammed Camara has caught the attention of South African football giants Orlando Pirates ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Soweto-based side is reportedly looking to reinforce their goalkeeping department, and Camara, whose contract with Kotoko expires in June, has emerged as a priority target. The Pirates are keen to secure the talented shot-stopper on a free transfer, capitalizing on his impressive performances this past season.
Camara has been pivotal to Asante Kotoko’s recent success, helping the club clinch multiple titles, including the Ghana FA Cup, Champion of Champions trophy, and the Toyota Cup in South Africa, where his heroics in the penalty shootout stood out.
This season, the 25-year-old has featured in 13 Ghana Premier League matches, conceding just nine goals and keeping eight clean sheets, underscoring his consistency and shot-stopping ability.
His stellar displays at club level have also earned him a call-up to the Guinea national team, featuring in the squad for last November’s friendlies against Togo and Niger. With his contract winding down, Camara looks set for a move abroad, and Orlando Pirates appear ready to make their move to secure one of West Africa’s most promising goalkeepers.
