Interim Prince Yaw Owusu has expressed frustration over Asante Kotoko’s inability to convert early opportunities following their 0-0 draw with Vision FC in the Ghana Premier League.
Speaking after the Week 24 clash, Owusu suggested that his side struggles under the pressure of playing at home, in contrast to away games where they appear more relaxed.
“I think they feel a bit pressured when playing at home and I could see through the way they perform. When we go out (away), they are free, they try to play. At Wenchi, it was amazing how they got the two early goals and today we had that same chances early in the game but they could not bury it,” he said.
Kotoko controlled 60% of possession and created the majority of scoring chances, registering nine shots on target and eight off target. Vision FC, despite playing part of the match with 10 men, managed seven shots on target and three off target, frustrating the hosts’ attacking efforts.
The draw leaves Kotoko fourth in the league table, seven points behind the leaders, highlighting the urgent need to improve finishing and capitalise on early opportunities in upcoming fixtures.
