Former Asante Kotoko General Manager Opoku Nti did not hide his excitement following the victory of the Porcupine Warriors over sworn rivals Hearts of Oak on Sunday but the club legend was expecting more damage.
Cameroon striker Franck Etouga Mbella converted a 17th minute penalty to register the only goal of the Week 24 encounter.
According to the legend of the Porcupine Warriors , he expected the team to be ruthless against their opponents.
“Kotoko had the upper hand right from the start. Their passes were going and they nearly scored in the first three minutes. That start boosted the confidence of the players more.
The Kotoko players played their hearts out and Hearts of Oak were not of themselves very well” Opoku Nti told SportsWorldGhana.com in an exclusive chat on Sunday.
“You could see the mistakes Hearts of Oak were making and So I expected Kotoko to punish them with two or three more goals but all the same the three points are bagged” he said.
Kotoko maintain their 9-point gap at the summit of the Ghana Premier League table on 52 points after 24 matches.
