Asante Kotoko interim coach Prince Yaw Owusu has maintained optimism over the club’s league ambitions despite a goalless draw against Vision FC at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium last Sunday.
Speaking to the media after the match, Owusu stressed that the race for the Ghana Premier League crown is still very much open, citing the weekend results of other title contenders.
“The title chase is not over yet. Have you checked on Hearts, Medeama, etc., results over the weekend? The race is still open. We just have to prepare ourselves and then see what we can do when we go to Tamale,” he said.
Kotoko will next face Karela United in their Week 25 fixture at the Aliu Mahama Stadium in Tamale. The match provides a key opportunity for the Porcupine Warriors to regain momentum and close the gap on the league leaders.
The draw against Vision FC leaves Kotoko in fourth place, seven points behind the summit, underscoring the need to improve finishing and capitalize on early chances in the remaining fixtures.
