In-form Kotoku Royals striker, Francis Andy Kumi is seeking a new challenge and is open to continuing his playing career at Hearts of Oak, provided that their offer is satisfactory.
Talks have already begun between the two Ghanaian clubs regarding the striker’s potential move in the upcoming transfer window.
The former Asante Kotoko forward responded to the news by stating that while Hearts of Oak is a prominent club in Ghana, he is not making any decisions at the moment and is instead focusing on his current club, Kotoku Royals.
He plans to leave any decisions regarding his future in the hands of his agent, Arthur Legacy, and will be happy to accept the challenge of playing for Hearts of Oak if the offer is attractive.
“Accra Hearts of Oak is a big club in Ghana but I don’t want to make any decision now because of where I am. I want to focus on Kotoku Royals. There is more time after the season and I will leave that to my agent [Arthur Legacy] to decide. I will be happy to have that challenge but my focus is on Kotoku Royals for now,” he told Ghanasportspage.com.
He added: “Every player will be ready to face a new challenge. I will be ready to join Hearts of Oak if only the offer is good but if I have to stay at Kotoku Royals I will stay,” Kumi stated.
Although he had a poor record with Asante Kotoko and Bechem United, Kumi has become the star player for Kotoku Royals since joining the team in the second half of the season.
With a total of 9 goals and 2 assists, he is currently the joint second-top scorer in the league and is among the Kotoku Royals trio nominated for the Nasco Player of the Month award in the BetPawa Premier League, having scored 4 goals in 6 matches throughout March.
Despite his success, Kumi remains focused on his current team and is willing to stay with Kotoku Royals if necessary
