Ghana Football Association President, Kurt Okraku, has stated that he sealed a deal with Access bank because he realized there was a potential to secure agreements with financial institutions.
Recently, Okraku announced a one-year $250,000 deal reached with Access Bank to sponsor the Division One League.
“When I took office as FA President, I told my General Secretary that we have been doing business with a lot of banks but we get nothing in return,” he said.
“Hence, any bank that want to sustain their business with us must be ready to invest in the products of the FA. Access Bank are the only bank that accepted that directive and are investing $250k into Ghana football for a one year period.
“They will be the official banking partner of the FA. They will be the headline sponsors of the Division One League and all 48 DOL clubs are expected to open accounts with Access Bank.
“Access Bank will offer DOL clubs overdrafts and loan facilities as part of their sponsorship package.”
GFA have secured headline sponsors for the GPL, Women’s Premier League and the Black Stars.
