KV Kortrijk has made an initial bid in attempt to secure the signature of Ghanaian midfielder Alex Opoku Sarfo.
The Kerels look to strengthen their squad following the start of the season and are in talks with Aris Limassol regarding the 21-year-old Ghanaian, who impressed in Cyprus last season.
Kortrijk started the new season with a defeat against Club Brugge and saw once again how limited the options up front can still be. The club is therefore looking at Opoku Sarfo, a midfielder who attracted interest last season at Aris Limassol.
Journalist Sacha Tavolieri reports that Kortrijk has offered 500,000 euros, with an additional 100,000 euros in potential bonuses. Talks with Aris Limassol are continuing, while several clubs are showing interest in the Ghanaian. Kortrijk is considered the most concrete candidate.
For the Kerels, the deal is more than just a casual opportunity. The club wants to add extra quality after the first matchday and sees Opoku Sarfo as a potential reinforcement for the midfield. However, an agreement has not yet been reached, as Aris Limassol must first be convinced by the proposal.
Kortrijk is trying to bring talks regarding Opoku Sarfo to a successful conclusion to get him signed in the coming days.
