Goalkeeper Kwadwo Osei Bonsu has sealed a move to Ghana Premier League side Accra Lions FC from Hearts of Oak, following successful negotiations on Tuesday afternoon.
Bonsu signed a two-year contract with Accra Lions, marking the end of his short stint with the Phobians.
The 26-year-old goalkeeper had joined Hearts of Oak in the second round of the 2023/24 season on a three-year deal, but failed to make an appearance for the club. Despite his lack of playing time, Bonsu’s extensive experience has made him a valuable asset for Accra Lions, who are looking to strengthen their goalkeeping department.
Accra Lions FC is currently preparing for the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League campaign, and hopes that Bonsu will bring stability to their goalkeeping department. The team finished second last season, ten points behind champions FC Samartex 1996, having amassed 51 points.
Bonsu’s move to Accra Lions marks the beginning of a new chapter in his career, as he looks to relaunch his career with the new club. He is expected to claim the starting position for the 2024/25 league season, and contribute to the team’s campaign as they aim to replicate last season’s performance.
