Asante Kotoko forward Kwame Opoku and Hearts of Oak SC forward Mawuli Wayo together with two others has been shortlisted for the Ghana Premier League Player of the Month award for December and January.
The nomination recognizes his impressive form during the 2024/25 league season.
Opoku is among four players who delivered outstanding performances during the period under review. The other nominees are Samuel Atta Kumi of Gold Stars FC, Dalvin Yeboah of Bechem United, and Mawuli Wayo of Hearts of Oak.
Having recently rejoined Asante Kotoko, Opoku leads the pack with an exceptional record of four goals in four games, including a brace against Vision FC on Match Day 17. His clinical displays have made him a strong contender for the award.
The nominees and their statistics are as follows:
- Kwame Opoku (Asante Kotoko): Four goals in four matches, including a brace against Vision FC.
- Samuel Atta Kumi (Gold Stars FC): Three goals in six matches and one NASCO Player of the Match award.
- Dalvin Yeboah (Bechem United): Two goals in five matches and two NASCO Player of the Match awards.
- Mawuli Wayo (Hearts of Oak): Three goals in seven matches, including a match-winner against Hearts of Lions, and two NASCO Player of the Match awards.
The winner of the award will receive a 43-inch NASCO television, courtesy of Electroland Ghana Limited.
