Ghanaian forward Kwame Poku continued his impressive form, scoring his fourth goal of the season in Peterborough United’s thrilling 3-2 victory over Bristol Rovers on Saturday.
Poku opened the scoring in the 10th minute, skillfully finishing after Hector Kyprianou’s flick, giving Peterborough an early lead. Ricky-Jade Jones doubled the advantage before halftime, capitalizing on a defensive error from Bristol Rovers.
Peterborough further extended their lead after the break, with Malik Mothersille firing in a left-footed strike just after the hour mark to make it 3-0. However, Bristol Rovers responded quickly, with Luke McCormick and Galtin O’Donkor netting within 45 seconds of each other to bring the score to 3-2.
Despite the late surge from Rovers, Peterborough held firm, securing their first home league win of the season, thanks to crucial saves by goalkeeper Jed Steer.
Poku’s standout performances have been instrumental for Peterborough, with the Ghanaian forward now boasting four goals in just six league appearances this season.
