Coventry City manager Frank Lampard has praised Brandon Thomas-Asante’s versatility and work rate, describing the Ghanaian forward as a player capable of filling several attacking positions.
Thomas-Asante has earned the manager’s trust through his ability to operate on either wing, as an attacking midfielder or as a central striker, making him a valuable option as Coventry seek the right balance in their Premier League campaign.
Lampard said the forward’s willingness to contribute wherever required has helped him secure playing time, including periods when injuries affected other members of the squad.
“He can play left wing, play as a 10, play right wing, play as a number nine; he can do anything and will give you everything,” Lampard said.
The manager also pointed to Thomas-Asante’s humble attitude and determination as important qualities that have helped him progress through the English football divisions.
The Ghana international previously featured for Ebbsfleet United and Sutton United before establishing himself at Salford City. He subsequently moved to West Bromwich Albion and later joined Coventry City, continuing his rise through the football pyramid.
Lampard believes the forward’s combination of energy, technical ability and willingness to work for the team makes him an important part of Coventry’s plans.
“So yeah, I think he’s a good example of players that come through with a really humble mentality that want to do well. Brandon is that,” he added.
Thomas-Asante’s ability to cover multiple positions offers Coventry tactical flexibility, particularly as Lampard continues to assess the best attacking combinations for the team.
