Former Black Stars winger Laryea Kingston has unveiled his best Black Stars XI from his playing generation, featuring a blend of defensive solidity and attacking prowess.
Kingston, who enjoyed a distinguished international career, selected Richard Kingson as the goalkeeper. His backline comprised John Paintsil at right-back, John Mensah and Eric Addo as the center-back pairing, and Hans Adu Sarpei at left-back.
In midfield, Kingston opted for a dynamic quartet, including himself, Stephen Appiah, Michael Essien, and Sulley Muntari, reflecting the team’s strength during his era.
For his attacking duo, he chose Ghana’s all-time leading scorer Asamoah Gyan and prolific forward Matthew Amoah.
Kingston made his Black Stars debut in 2002, earning 40 caps and scoring six goals before retiring from international football in 2010. His exclusion from Ghana’s World Cup squads in 2006 and 2010 marked a bittersweet end to his national team journey.
