Ghanaian midfielder Lawrence Agyekum has been honored as Cercle Brugge’s Player of the Month for March, following a series of standout performances in the Belgian Pro League.
Agyekum secured the award after receiving the highest number of fan votes, edging out Lucas Perrin for the top spot. His impressive form last month saw him feature in five matches, starting in each game and capping off his run with his first league goal for the club.
Cercle Brugge announced his victory on social media, stating: “With more than half of the votes, you elected Lawrence Agyekum as Golden Player of the Month for March! Well deserved, Lawrence!”
The 21-year-old midfielder recently earned his first Ghana national team call-up during the March international break, making his senior debut in a World Cup qualifier against Chad.
With Cercle Brugge battling in the promotion-relegation play-offs, Agyekum will be aiming to maintain his impressive form and help his team finish the season on a high.
