Ghanaian defender Lawrence Agyekum showcased his scoring prowess for FC Liefering, but it wasn’t enough to secure victory as Ried clinched a 3-2 win in the Austrian Bundesliga 2.
The match, held at the Innviertel Arena, witnessed Agyekum’s stellar performance as he started and completed the full 90 minutes.
Despite Liefering’s early lead courtesy of Agyekum’s goal in the 2nd minute, Ried fought back fiercely, with Nikki Havenaar equalizing in the 13th minute.
Despite Moussa Kounfolo Yeo briefly restoring Liefering’s lead in the 69th minute, Ried rallied with Wilfried Eza leveling the score in the 79th minute.
In a thrilling climax, Fabian Wohlmuth secured victory for Ried with a goal in the 89th minute. Agyekum’s compatriot, Lumor Agbenyenu, also featured for Ried, playing 46 minutes before being substituted.
Agyekum, who has made eight league appearances this season, continues to be a key asset for Liefering with one goal and one assist to his name.
