Asante Kotoko midfielder Hubert Gyau has expressed strong belief that the Porcupine Warriors remain very much in the hunt for the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League title.
Speaking ahead of Sunday’s crucial showdown against Accra Hearts of Oak, Gyau insisted that the team’s focus on the league has not wavered, despite the hurdles they have faced this season.
“There are still many matches to play, and our focus on the league title hasn’t changed,” Gyau told Oyerpa FM. “If we beat Hearts of Oak on Sunday, we believe we’ll still have a strong chance to win the league.”
The midfielder also emphasized the vital role of fan support, urging supporters to back Kotoko as they aim for victory in one of the most anticipated fixtures of the campaign.
Currently among the top contenders, Kotoko view the Sunday clash against their arch-rivals as a pivotal opportunity to maintain momentum in the title race. Though trailing league leaders Medeama SC by eight points, Gyau, who has been one of Kotoko’s standout performers, remains optimistic about their chances.
The Porcupine Warriors will host Hearts of Oak in the Matchday 22 crunch fixture, a game seen as crucial for shaping the final stretch of the league race.
