The Dutch-born Ghanaian full-back is delighted to sign for Danish club Odense Boldklub. He has reached an agreement to join the club on a three-year contract.
The 26-year-old joins the club after recently leaving Willem II following the expiration of his contract.
Leeroy has had his daily life in Dutch football, where he already became part of the academy at AFC Ajax as a seven-year-old, and here he played until U21. He has since represented several Dutch clubs, including De Graafschap, Excelsior.
In total, Leroy has over 300 matches in the top Dutch leagues, 99 of which are in the Eresdivisie, but now he faces new challenges in Denmark.
”I am happy to now switch to Odense Boldklub. I have had some good talks with the management, who were very clear and well informed about me,” Leeroy Owusu said.
”This is my first time abroad, and it is incredibly exciting. New team, new stadium, and of course I’m looking forward to meeting the club’s fans. The support the club has at the stadium looks really good and I can’t wait to play there.” Owusu concluded.
He is expected to start training with his new teammates on June 26.
