Ghana legend, Asamoah Gyan is excited to be back on the local scene after he made his Legon Cities FC bow on Friday night at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The All-time top goal scorer for Ghana’s Black Stars played 20 minutes for Legon Cities FC in the 0-0 stalemate with Tarkwa-based Medeama SC.
The 35-year-old former Liberty Professionals hitman was introduced to the match after 70 minutes yo replace striker David Ocloo who’s wasteful in front of goal throughout the match.
The Ghana International after the game revealed how happy and excited he was to have made his return to the Ghana Premier League after 17 years since he last kicked a ball in the Ghana top-flight.
“I am very much excited to be back home. This is where the name, Asamoah Gyan started and it feels great to play in the league again after 17 years”, he said.
“I am very much satisfied with the game tonight. It’s a positive one. We need to approach the next game with this same mentality and I believe soon the wins will come”, he added.
Legon Cities drew their second home game this season and have scored just a goal in three games so far.
