Royals were found wanting in Eye-Red Lions den on Monday afternoon at the Accra Sports Stadium in their week 11 Ghana Premier League clash.
Legon Cities FC lost the bragging right to newly promoted side Accra Lions FC when the teams squad off in the Accra derby.
After beating Elmina Sharks FC away in Elmina in their last game at the Nduom Stadium, the Royals were full of comfidence going into the Monday clash with Lions.
But the game was certainly difficult than what the home team expected in their clash with the newbies at the Accra Sports Stadium under a scorching sun on Monday.
The opening 45 minutes of the match failed to produce a single goal to make the fans at the stadium excited despite the good chances that came in the game.
Eight minutes after the break, Hagan Frimpong broke the deadlock of the match to put the visitors 1-0 up after 53 minutes with a fine finish.
Cities pushed harder for the equalizer but failed in their attempt to get back into the game and had to succumb to a narrow 1-0 defeat at home.
The Royals are back in the relegation places after the defeat as Lions move up the ladder on the league table after their 4th victory of the season.
