Jonathan Attuquaye scored the only goal for Legon Cities FC as they pipped Kumasi King Faisal FC at home in their week 17 clash at the Rl-Wak Stadium in Accra.
The Royals were in need of all three points to move up on the league table to boost their survival hopes after a shaky start to the season.
The home team on the balance of play deserved to win the game and narrowly beat their opponents to go on 21 points after 17 matches and are 12th on the league log after the win.
The first 45 minutes of the match was keenly contested by the two teams and the goal scorer missed an easy to score than to miss chance in the first half as it ended goalless.
Two minutes after the hour mark in the second half, Attuquaye finally found the back of the net with a beautiful strike to win the game for the home team.
The game finished 1-0 to the home team who are out of the relegation zone before the start of the second round of the 2021-22 season in Ghana.
