Ghanaian midfielder Michael Baidoo continued his impressive form in the Swedish Allsvenskan, scoring for IF Elfsborg in their 2-1 defeat to GAIS on Sunday.
Leicester City target Baidoo netted a consolation goal for his side at Gamla Ullevi Stadium in Gothenburg. Swedish midfielder Axel Henriksson opened the scoring for GAIS just four minutes into the match and added another shortly after to double the lead with a close-range finish.
Baidoo’s effort five minutes before half-time from the edge of the box beat goalkeeper Mergim Krasniqi, reducing the deficit for Elfsborg. Despite his goal, Elfsborg remains in 9th place after 10 matches.
Young Ghanaian player Jalal Abdullai featured for Elfsborg, playing 46 minutes before being substituted by seasoned forward Simon Hedlund. Baidoo has been having a strong campaign, with 4 goals and 2 assists in 9 appearances.
