In the promotion playoff game, Liberty Professionals defeated Ebusua Dwarfs 3-1 to advance significantly toward a potential return to the Ghana Premier League.

The Ghana Football Association is looking for a replacement for AshantiGold, who have been relegated to Division Two. The game, which took place at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday, August 4, was the first of three games to be played.

The Miners were demoted as a result of their participation in a match-fixing with Inter Allies, another team that practises the same religion.

Richard Addai of the Dwarfs scored the game’s first goal for them in the sixth minute, although their advantage only lasted three minutes. The boys from Scientific Soccer were levelled by Blaise Macadjei.

William Oduro’s goal gave Liberty the lead with seven minutes left in the first half.

After the break, the team from Dansoman kept up the pressure on the Dwarfs and eventually received a penalty.

Oduro took the opportunity once more to convert and score twice for the day as his team triumphed.

If Liberty defeats Tamale City in their subsequent match, the victory over Dwarfs ensures their participation in the 2022–23 Premier League season.
