Ghanaian striker Richmond Yiadom Boakye and Libyan club Al Ahkdar have reached a mutual agreement to terminate their contract.
Boakye, who had previously played for Red Star Belgrade, joined Al Ahkdar in January after a short spell with Greek side Lamia.
In a concise statement released on Friday night, the club confirmed Boakye’s departure after a little over four months in Libya. They expressed their appreciation to Boakye while announcing the contract termination.
During his time with Al Ahkdar, Boakye made significant contributions to the team’s performance. He scored three goals and provided two assists in 11 appearances across various competitions.
However, the specific reasons for the mutual termination of the contract have not been disclosed.
Boakye, who had a stint with Juventus in the past, has now joined and left his 13th club in his career.
As he moves on, the 2013 U20 FIFA World Cup bronze medalist will be seeking a new club during the upcoming summer transfer window.
