Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman has moved to calm tensions following the reported on-field outburst involving Victor Osimhen during Nigeria’s win over Mozambique.
Speaking after the match, Lookman dismissed any suggestion of a rift between himself and the Napoli striker, stressing unity within the team as Nigeria prepare for their quarterfinal clash.
“We want all the fans to be behind us for the quarterfinal game. I don’t have any problem with Victor Osimhen, he’s my brother,” Lookman said.
His comments come amid growing public discussion after Osimhen’s visible frustration during the game and his decision to head straight down the tunnel at full time. Lookman’s response appears aimed at shifting focus away from individual moments and back to the team’s objectives.
With AFCON 2025 entering a crucial stage, the Super Eagles are keen to maintain harmony and concentration. Lookman’s message highlights the squad’s desire to stay united, draw strength from their supporters, and push forward together in their quest for continental success.
