Arsenal legend Ian Wright said on Match of the Day on BBC One that Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey was “magnificent” against Manchester City in the English Premier League over the weekend.

The Arsenal legend and MOTD pundit made the comments about Partey on MOTD while analysing the match between the Gunners and City at the Emirates Stadium on New Year’s Day.

Arsenal lost the Premier League game 2-1.

Wright said on MOTD: “Thomas Partey had a magnificent game.”

The former Athletico Madrid star midfielder played well for Arsenal despite ending up on the losing side.

The Ghana international was a force to be reckoned with in the middle of the park and imposed himself in midfield.

Partey formed a formidable partnership with Granit Xhaka in midfield and broke up City’s play so well, especially in the first half.

The former Atletico Madrid star also played the ball forward quickly when he had it.

The Black Stars deputy captain, undoubtedly had one of his best games in an Arsenal shirt against Pep Guardiola’s side.

Meanwhile, Partey is expected to join his Ghana teammates in Doha-Qatar this week as they continue preparations bfor the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Cameroon.
