2014 Ghana FIFA World Cup goalkeeper Fatau Dauda says Swindon Town goalie Jojo Wollacot, FC St Gallen first choice goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Hearts of Oak SC shot stopper Richard Attah and Nurudeen Abdul Manaf should be maintained for the World Cup playoff against Nigeria this month.
The former Obuasi Ashantigold SC player has called for patience and backed the three goalkeepers to be named in the squad for the crucial encounter against Nigeria after calls by many to drop the current goalkeepers.
“When it comes to the goalkeeping department. It is very important and crucial. When we went to the AFCON things didn’t go but from a technical point of view, I will never blame the goalkeeper Jojo Wollacot for the goals he conceded at the AFCON”, Fatau Dauda told Happy FM.
“Maybe there is a problem with his communication with his defenders. In fact that department we don’t do a lot of changes, so let’s maintain them. Unless Richard Ofori is still fit.”
Ghana and Nigeria will battle for a ticket to the next FIFA World Cup tournament later this year in Qatar.
