Former Manchester United star Nani has advised the club to sign Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo during the January transfer window.
Semenyo, who plays for AFC Bournemouth, is reported to have a £65 million release clause in his contract, which he signed last summer. The 25-year-old has been in good form this season.
Top Premier League clubs Liverpool and Manchester City are said to be leading the race for his signature. However, Nani believes Semenyo would be a good fit for Manchester United.
Speaking ahead of United’s league match against Bournemouth, Nani praised the Ghanaian striker’s qualities.
“Players who are fast, can dribble, shoot, score goals, create chances and assist are the kind of players Manchester United need,” Nani told Metro.
He added that playing for Manchester United comes with big pressure, and not every player finds it easy to adjust.
“Old Trafford is a different environment with different pressure and mentality. Players must adapt,” he said.
Nani said he hopes that if Semenyo joins United, he will bring the right attitude and mindset to succeed.
“I hope if we sign Semenyo, he comes with the right mentality and uses his talent to help the team,” he added.
Antoine Semenyo has already scored six goals in the ongoing Premier League season for Bournemouth.
