Manchester United have reportedly taken the lead in the race to sign in-form Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The 25-year-old is currently enjoying his most impressive season to date at AFC Bournemouth, having registered 10 goals and 6 assists across all competitions. His explosive performances and relentless work rate have made him a fan favourite at the Vitality Stadium.
Semenyo’s form has attracted widespread interest from several top clubs, including Chelsea, Arsenal, and Liverpool. However, according to journalist David Ornstein, Manchester United now appear to be the frontrunners, with incoming manager Ruben Amorim said to be an admirer of the dynamic forward. Amorim reportedly sees Semenyo as a key piece in his plans to rebuild and strengthen United’s attacking line next season.
Despite the growing interest, Bournemouth are determined to hold onto their prized asset and have slapped a £70 million price tag on the former Bristol City forward. The Cherries are unwilling to entertain offers below that valuation as they look to retain one of their most important players.
