Ghanaian forward Mark Assinor produced a decisive late moment of brilliance to help LNZ Cherkasy secure an important 2-0 home victory over FC Oleksandriya in the Ukrainian Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The 25-year-old striker sealed the win in dramatic fashion, scoring deep into stoppage time to wrap up the three points for the hosts. His goal came after a determined attacking display from LNZ Cherkasy, who controlled large spells of the game and continued to press forward in search of a second goal to secure the result.

Assinor showed excellent composure in the dying moments of the match. After receiving the ball inside the penalty area, he calmly slotted it past the Oleksandria goalkeeper to send the home supporters into celebration. The late strike not only confirmed victory but also highlighted the Ghanaian forward’s growing influence within the team.

The goal means Assinor has now scored six goals in the league this season, an impressive return that underlines his importance in LNZ Cherkasy’s attacking setup. Throughout the campaign, he has consistently provided energy, movement, and finishing quality in the final third, making him one of the club’s key performers.

LNZ Cherkasy had earlier taken the lead through a well-worked team move in the first half, but Oleksandria pushed hard for an equaliser as the match progressed. The visitors increased the pressure in the second half, forcing the home side to defend with discipline while waiting for opportunities to strike on the counterattack.

Despite Oleksandria’s efforts to get back into the game, the Cherkasy defence remained organised and resilient. Their ability to absorb pressure proved crucial as the match approached its closing stages, allowing them to maintain their slender lead before Assinor delivered the decisive blow.

The victory represents another important step for LNZ Cherkasy as they continue their campaign in the Ukrainian top flight. The team’s fighting spirit and ability to finish games strongly have been vital factors in their recent performances.
