Aduana Stars emerged victorious in the Bono Derby, narrowly defeating Berekum Chelsea in a crucial Ghana Premier League matchday four fixture on Friday afternoon.
The Ogya Boys continued their dominance over their neighbors from Berekum, securing a 1-0 victory and notching their second win of the 2023-24 campaign.
Isaac Mintah’s first-half strike proved to be the decisive goal in a match played at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa Ahenkro, securing back-to-back home wins for Aduana.
Aduana manager Yaw Acheampong made three changes to the starting lineup compared to the previous week’s loss to Legon Cities FC. Godfred Opoku Wakii, Justus Tortsutsey, and Frank Owusu were included in the lineup.
Chelsea coach Christopher Ennin, on the other hand, made just one change to the team that had drawn 1-1 at home against Accra Lions FC a week ago, with Ansu Kofi Patrick taking Augustine Henneh’s place in the starting lineup.
Mintah found the back of the net in the 38th minute, securing all three points for the Ogya Boys, who now sit in fourth place in the standings.
