In a highly anticipated showdown in matchday seven of the Ghana Premier League, Asante Kotoko and Bechem United engaged in a thrilling contest that ultimately concluded with a hard-fought 1-1 draw.

At the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, the Hunters showcased their resilience, rallying from a one-goal deficit to secure a crucial point, and Kotoko was unable to capitalize on their home advantage.

Prosper Narteh Ogum, the coach of Kotoko, implemented two changes to his starting lineup following their draw with Nations FC last weekend. Nicholas Osei Bonsu and Nana Benyin made way for Steven Dese Mukwala and Georges Mfegue.

On the opposing side, Bechem United’s coach, Bismark Kobi Mensah, also introduced two alterations to the team that had triumphed over Berekum Chelsea the previous weekend. Seth Kwadwo once again captained the squad in place of the injured Francis Twene.

The Porcupine Warriors were the first to break the deadlock, with Peter Acquah finding the back of the net just nine minutes into the clash. The home team entered halftime with the lead.

However, in an impressive showing, the seasoned attacker Augustine Okrah leveled the score for Bechem United in the 54th minute in this much-anticipated encounter.

With no further goals, both teams were forced to settle for a draw.

Despite the draw, Asante Kotoko maintains their seventh position on the Ghana Premier League table with 10 points, while Bechem United occupies the 12th spot with 8 points after seven games into the season.
