The Black Queens of Ghana have successfully advanced to the second round of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers with an impressive 12-0 aggregate victory over Rwanda.
In the first leg of the tie, the Black Queens dominated with a resounding 7-0 victory in Kigali.
Today, at the Accra Sports Stadium, Ghana hosted Rwanda for the reverse fixture of the tie. Despite already holding a significant lead, the Black Queens fielded a full-strength team and managed to score four goals in the first half.
Midfield maestro Alice Kusi stole the spotlight in front of the home fans, opening the scoring in the 22nd minute and adding two more goals to complete a sensational hat-trick.
Later in the game, additional goals from Evelyn Badu and Stella Nyamekye sealed Ghana’s 5-0 victory in the second leg.
With a dominant 12-0 aggregate win, Ghana has secured their spot in the second round of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. They will now await the winner between Gambia and Namibia for their next fixture in the competition.
