Bofoakwa Tano emerged as champions of the 2023 Division One League Super Cup, defeating the defending champions Skyy FC in the final on Friday.
The decisive moment came in the second half when Saaka Dauda scored the only goal of the match, securing the title for the Premier League returnees at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex on Friday, September 1, 2023.
The first half of the game ended without either team finding the back of the net, as both sides fiercely contested the match.
Skyy FC came back from the break with an aggressive approach, seeking to take the lead. Despite their numerous efforts to score against the Premier League side, it was Bofoakwa Tano who broke the deadlock in the 72nd minute, courtesy of Saaka Dauda. The forward calmly finished a pass to give his team the lead.
Bofoakwa Tano held firm against a late surge from Skyy FC and maintained their lead until the final whistle blew.
In an earlier match, Nations FC secured third place by defeating Hearts of Lions 5-3 in a penalty shootout.
