Ghana’s U-16 Girls’ team produced a commanding performance to crush Malta 8-1 at the Centenary Stadium in Ta’ Qali-Attard.
The young Ghanaian side started brightly, breaking the deadlock in the 15th minute through Seidatu Wahab, who finished calmly. However, Malta responded with resilience, leveling the score in the 31st minute from the penalty spot.
Ghana wasted no time in reclaiming their lead, as Priscilla Mensah struck just two minutes later to make it 2-1 before halftime.
The second half was a masterclass in attacking football, with Ghana completely dominating proceedings. Christiana Ashiaku starred with a quickfire brace, scoring in the 47th and 52nd minutes to extend the lead to 4-1.
Daniella Abass then took charge, netting twice in the 65th and 73rd minutes, before Gloria Adomako Ameaa joined the scoring spree in the 82nd minute to make it 7-1.
Wahab sealed the emphatic victory with her second goal in the 89th minute, capping off an outstanding team performance.
The emphatic win highlights Ghana’s rising talent at the youth level as they continue to build for the future.
