Great Olympics played to a goalless draw against Bofoakwa Tano FC at the Accra Sports Stadium in the opening match of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League (GPL).
This marked Bofoakwa Tano FC’s return to the Ghana Premier League after 16 years in the Division One League.
The first half of the game concluded without any goals, with both teams heading into the dressing room level.
The second half continued in a similar fashion, and Annor Walker, returning to the club after a season with Samartex, couldn’t secure a victory in his second stint.
The match ultimately ended with both teams earning a point each.
In the next round of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League, Accra Great Olympics will face Heart of Lions on Saturday, September 23, 2023, in an away game.
Meanwhile, Bofoakwa Tano will host their first home match in the Ghana top flight against Real Tamale United on the same Saturday, following their 1-0 victory over Hearts of Oak in their season opener, courtesy of a late header by Eric Owusu.
