In a preparatory game held at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence in Prampram, Ghana’s Black Meteors secured a resounding 3-0 victory over Division One League side Uncle T United on Thursday.
The Ghana U23 team has been undergoing intensive training at the base in preparation for the upcoming U23 AFCON tournament in Morocco. In the friendly match, the Black Meteors displayed their dominance, showcasing a superior performance.
The goals were scored by Godwin Bentil, who netted a brace, and Afriyie Barnieh, who added another goal to the tally. Ghana took an early lead in the first half when Barnieh converted a penalty kick.
In the second half, Bentil continued Ghana’s momentum by scoring two more goals, solidifying their victory over Uncle T United.
Looking ahead, Ghana is set to compete against hosts Morocco, Congo, and Guinea in Group A of the tournament. The highly-anticipated tournament commences on June 23, with Ghana aiming to secure a top-three finish to secure their return to the Olympic Games next year after a 19-year absence.
