Former Ghanaian international Matthew Amoah has heaped praise on Antoine Semenyo for his stellar performances at Bournemouth, highlighting his significant impact on the team this season.
The 25-year-old forward has been in excellent form, netting nine goals and providing five assists in 31 appearances across all competitions. His impressive displays have drawn interest from top European clubs, including Manchester United, Chelsea, Newcastle United, and Napoli.
With reports suggesting that Tottenham Hotspur is preparing a €40 million (£33.5 million) bid, speculation around Semenyo’s future continues to grow. However, Amoah believes the Ghanaian striker is thriving at Bournemouth and sees no urgent need for him to leave.
“He’s doing his job very well at a club that also appreciates his work and efforts, with fans singing his name day in and day out,” he told Africa Foot.
The former Black Stars forward also questioned the potential move to Tottenham, insisting that Bournemouth currently offers a more stable and competitive environment.
“Bournemouth are currently a better team than Tottenham and seem more stable with a very good coach. So, joining a club that is far behind would be a demotion that makes no footballing sense.”
As Semenyo continues to impress in the Premier League, he is also expected to receive a call-up for Ghana’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar later this month.
