Max-Alain Gradel retires from Ivory Coast national team

Legendary Ivorian forward Max-Alain Gradel has retired from international football after 13 years of playing for the Elephants of Ivory Coast.

In a stellar international career, the 36-year-old Gradel was capped 112 times for the African champions and scored 17 goals.

Born in Abidjan, the Capital of Ivory Coast, Gradel made his international debut in November 2010 under Francois Zahoui.

The Gaziantep attacker has won two AFCONs (2015 and 2023) for Ivory Coast. He was an integral part of Ivory Coast’s team that lifted the just-ended AFCON 2023 as he made 5 appearances.

Max Gradel announced his retirement from the Ivory Coast national team after the 2-2 draw against Benin on Saturday in Amiens as He started and scored The Elephant’s first goal.
