Former Ghana national team coach Maxwell Konadu has revealed that Sulley Muntari, Asamoah Gyan, and Andre Ayew are some of the best players he has ever had the privilege of coaching.
Konadu, who has had two stints as assistant coach of the Black Stars, reflected on his time with some of the country’s top talent in an interview with 3sports. He praised the skills and dedication of these players, who have gone on to achieve great success in their careers.
“I have coached top players. They are many: Sulley Muntari, Asamoah Gyan, [Andre] Dede Ayew, and Agyeman Badu,” Konadu said.
Konadu also mentioned Steven Dese Mukwala and Stephen Amankonah as some of the toughest opponents he has faced during his coaching career.
The 51-year-old has a wealth of experience in Ghanaian football, having led Asante Kotoko to the 2012 Ghana Premier League title and recently guiding Nsoatreman to a historic FA Cup triumph. His success has opened up new opportunities for him, with South Africa emerging as a likely destination for the experienced coach.
