Former Ghana deputy coach Maxwell Konadu has called on Ghanaians to be patient with the Black Stars technical team ahead of the release of their squad for the 2022 World Cup.
Gaffer Otto Addo has submitted his provisional squad to FIFA and is working on naming final squad, expected to be 26 players, before Ghana’s first game at the World Cup on November 24 against Portugal.
Despite failing publicly announce the Ghanaian squad, Konadu has urged Ghanaians to be patient with the technical team.
According to him, the technical team will need the support of the country regardless of the player choices for the mundial in Qatar.
“We just have to be patient and leave this selection thing to the technical handlers. They are in charge now, and let’s support them and make sure they make the right decision.
“Whatever decision they take, we must support them because it is Ghana first and not any individual,” Konadu said in an interview during the “Walk with the Legends” initiative by the Ghana Football Association and the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana.
Ghana is housed in Group H alongside Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea.
