Accra Hearts of Oak SC coach Samuel Boadu was taught a lesson by his ‘Platform Given Club’ Medeama SC on Wednesday afternoon in Tarkwa.
The former Medeama SC gaffer suffered a defeat to his old team at the Akoon Park in the Ghana Premier League week 6 outstanding fixture.
Boadu who denied Medeama SC giving him a platform to horn his talent as a coach visited Tarkwa as an opponent for the first time since he left the club in the middle of last season.
Hoping to prove a point to his former employees, Boadu picked a dynamic side to face the Yellow and Mauves in Wednesday’s encounter but could do little to prevent a defeat against a determined side.
Medeama SC started the game on a blistering pace with some quality football on display and pushed the Phobians back into defending for most part of the first half with their lives.
The home team had great opportunities to score but Hearts goalie, Richmond Ayi stood tall in goal and prevented his team from falling behind before the break.
In the second half of the match, the game was a bit balanced but Medeama remained to purposeful side with some great incursions into Hearts territory.
In the dying embers of the match, Medeama were awarded a penalty and former Hearts of Oak Player, Vincent Atinga stepped up to convert the spot kick to hand Boadu and his charges a defeat on his return to Akoon Park.
The game finished 1-0 to the Yellow and Mauves who thoroughly deserved to win the game.
