Medeama coach Ibrahim Tanko remained composed after his side were held to a 0–0 draw by Bechem United in Tarkwa on Sunday.
Despite dominating possession and creating numerous opportunities, the Mauve and Yellow could not find a breakthrough, leaving fans frustrated as chances went begging throughout the match. Tanko acknowledged that Bechem United came well-prepared, employing a disciplined defensive strategy and counter-attacking approach that made scoring difficult for the home side.
“We had most of the ball, but I think the last bite was not there. Bechem came with a plan, with all men behind the ball, and it worked for them very well. We didn’t have patience to finish our build-up, but they did very well and one point is better than none,” Tanko said in his post-match comments.
The draw means Medeama remain top of the Ghana Premier League with 22 points, but the title race is tightening as chasing teams continue to close the gap.
