Goldfields, the headline sponsors of Medeama, have reportedly established a reward package worth $2 million for the team’s players in the event of winning the Ghana Premier League title this season.
Medeama, known as the Yellow and Mauve, secured a remarkable victory over one of the league’s powerhouses at the Accra Sports Stadium, propelling themselves to the top of the league standings, surpassing Aduana with only three games remaining in the season.
In an outstanding display, the Tarkwa-based club dominated with a resounding 5-1 triumph over the Phobians, solidifying their position at the summit after 31 matches played.
According to local media reports, the entire playing squad and technical team of Medeama have been encouraged to clinch the league title in order to claim the aforementioned monetary reward.
Goldfields, a mining company and the primary sponsors of the club, has been providing annual support of $300,000 to the Tarkwa-based side.
Additionally, they are nearing the completion of the T.N.A Park’s renovation, transforming it into a 10,000-seater stadium that the club may utilize in the upcoming 2023/24 campaign.
Medeama will face King Faisal, a team battling relegation, in a crucial match at the Akoon Park, where a victory is vital for their title aspirations.
