Medeama SC has made the decision to host their CAF Champions League group stage matches at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
While the Ghana Premier League champions played their qualification matches at the Cape Coast Stadium, they have opted for Kumasi as the venue for their group phase games.
This decision has been officially communicated to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) through a submitted circular. Medeama finds itself in Group D of the competition, pitted against reigning champions Al Ahly SC, Algerian champions CR Belouizdad, and Tanzanian giants Young Africans.
In their upcoming fixtures, Medeama will face Al Ahly in Cairo for their first group game before hosting Belouizdad at the Baba Yara Stadium in the second round. The subsequent home matches will be against Young Africans and Al Ahly in that order.
The CAF Champions League group stage matches are scheduled to commence on Friday and Saturday, November 25 and 26, 2023, and conclude on March 1 and 2, 2024. For their maiden campaign in Africa’s premier club competition, Medeama is hoping to receive strong support from fans based in Kumasi.
