Medeama SC Board Chairman Dr Toni Aubynn has declared that the club’s ultimate goal is to win the 2026/27 CAF Champions League after securing qualification by lifting the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League title.
The Tarkwa-based club will face Congolese giants TP Mazembe in the preliminary round later this month.
Speaking to Graphic Sports, Dr Aubynn said Medeama are no longer satisfied with merely participating in the competition but are determined to challenge for the title and make Ghana proud.
“In the past, we wanted to reach the money zone, but now our aim is to win the cup itself by making Ghana and the Western Region proud. Our target is to go for the kill,” he said.
While acknowledging the quality and experience of TP Mazembe, Dr Aubynn expressed confidence that Medeama are well-prepared for the challenge and can compete strongly despite being considered underdogs.
The Ghanaian champions are currently holding their pre-season training camp in Ivory Coast ahead of the new campaign.
