Ghanaian forward Michael Baidoo continued his impressive form in the UEFA Europa League, scoring his second consecutive penalty in Elfsborg’s 4-3 loss to Galatasaray.
Despite the defeat, Baidoo’s composed finish from the spot kept his side in the contest, marking another standout performance for the 24-year-old.
Baidoo netted in the second half after a VAR review confirmed a handball by Galatasaray’s Barış Yılmaz in the box. With calm under pressure, Baidoo sent goalkeeper Günay Güvenç the wrong way, securing his second European goal in as many matches. His strike ignited a determined Elfsborg comeback after they trailed 3-0 at halftime.
Although Elfsborg ultimately fell short, Baidoo’s form has been a highlight of their Europa League campaign.
With five goals in 11 games this season, the Ghanaian forward has become a key player for the Swedish side as they face tough upcoming fixtures in the group stage.
