Ghanaian striker Kwame Peprah played a pivotal role in Kerala Blasters FC’s 2-1 comeback victory over Mohammedan SC in the Indian Super League, turning the game in his team’s favor after coming off the bench.
Mohammedan SC took an early lead in the 28th minute when Mirjalol Kasimov converted a penalty, giving the hosts a 1-0 advantage at halftime. Kerala Blasters struggled to break through but found their spark in the second half.
Peprah, who replaced Alexandre Coeff in the 64th minute, made an immediate impact. Just three minutes after coming on, he netted the equalizer in the 67th minute, finishing from close range after a perfectly timed assist from Noah Sadaoui. This goal not only leveled the score but also marked a breakthrough as Kerala Blasters ended their winless streak against Mohammedan SC.
Eight minutes later, Jesús Jiménez completed the comeback, heading home a cross from Naocha Singh to secure the 2-1 lead for Kerala Blasters. Despite late pressure from Mohammedan, Kerala held on to claim the crucial away victory.
Peprah’s decisive goal was the turning point, and Kerala Blasters now shift their focus to their upcoming match against Bengaluru FC on October 25th.
